Etienne Pruvot - che

Etienne Pruvot is an Associate Professor at Lausanne University and the Head of the Arrythmia Unit of the service of Cardiology, CHUV, Lausanne University Hospital. Since 2010, a new clinical research collaboration supported by the SNF has been established between the ASPG (JM. Vesin, PhD, www.aspg.epfl.ch) and the service of Cardiology (E. Pruvot, A. Forclaz, M. Fromer, J. Schlaepfer). The objective is to develop advanced signal processing techniques to track the potential organizing effect of ablation in patients with atrial fibrillation.

This work has been presented at national (Swiss Cardiology Society) and international meetings (Heart Rhythm Society 2012, Europace 20112 and 2013, Computing in Cardiology 2011 and 2012), and recently published in a biomedical journal (A. Buttu et al. Biomed. Signal Process. Control. 2013) and in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology Clinical Electrophysiology.  Recently, the ASPG and Professor Pruvot's group have obtained a CTI grant on the characterization of the complexity of persistent AF to predict success of ablative strategies on the long term (i.e. restoration of sinus rhythm).
